Detailed description
PRRS is a highly contagious disease caused by porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus, characterized by fever, anorexia, late miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, weak and mummified fetuses, and respiratory disorders in pigs of all ages (especially young pigs).
PRRSV (Nidovirales) Arteritis viridae Arteritis virus genus members, according to the antigenicity, genome and pathogenicity of the virus, PRRSV can be divided into 2 types, namely European type (LV strain as the representative strain) and American type (ATCC-VR2332 strain as the representative strain), the homology of amino acids between the two strains is 78%~81%.
ELISA is used for antibody testing for PRRS. Antibody test results are routinely expressed as S/P values. This representation is calculated from the primer values (control values). It is worth noting that for the detection of porcine blue ear antibodies, the same sample, different equipment, different laboratories, different personnel testing results may be different. Therefore, the test results should be comprehensively analyzed and reasonably judged in combination with the actual production situation of the pig farm.
